Visit all the unmissable Irish destinations while still experiencing Ireland at your own pace. Choosing this hub-and-spoke tour, guests on the Six-Day Iconic Scenes of Ireland stay in two quality hotels for the duration of their vacation. That means less time re-packing and checking in – more time for a truly unforgettable adventure.
A hub-and-spoke tour is one that uses the same accommodation for as many nights as possible. That means less time packing and checking into hotels. More time for what matters.
The name comes from the Hub and Spokes of a bicycle wheel. The Hubs, (in this case the Clayton Hotel Burlington Road in Dublin and Clayton Hotel in Limerick), are usually choosen for thier central location to thier surrounding attractions. Travelling to and from these destinations, from the 'Hub', if drawn onto a piece of paper, would appear similar to that of a bicyle wheel.
The advantages of this type of tour is that it reduces the time guests spend packing & checking-in and allows them more time to experience the attractions and culture of an area. In comparison with most other tours, where guests would spend a night in one hotel before moving onto another, the 6 Day Iconic Scenes of Ireland Tour only changes hotels once, allowing for a smoother, more relaxing experience.
As a hub-and-spoke tour, the 6 Day Iconic Scenes of Ireland Tour requires guests to change hotels only once during their Ireland Tour. The hotels on this tour were chosen for their central locations to Ireland's most loved attractions. Clayton Hotel Burlington Road is based in Dublin City and makes a perfect base for Ireland's capital and East. Your 'hub' for the second part of this Tour of Ireland is the Clayton Hotel in County Limerick, offering easy access to the world renowned attractions of Ireland's West.
An Irish vacation with plenty to see and plenty of time to relax. If you have just six days to discover the very best that Ireland has to offer, then this Ireland tour is the one for you. A carefully composed mix of Ireland's stunning landscapes, its storied history and its legendary and vibrant culture.
The Wild Atlantic Way is a long-distance touring route, the first of its kind in Ireland. It runs the length of Ireland's western coast, facing the Atlantic Ocean, from County Donegal in the northwest to County Cork in the southwest. The initial aim of the Wild Atlantic Way was to give greater visibility to Ireland's west coast in overseas markets. The Wild Atlantic Way is 2,500 km (1,553 miles) long and passes through 3 provinces of Ireland (Ulster, Connacht and Munster). It has given a huge boost to the tourism industry of the region since its launch in February 2014.
Ireland's Ancient East is a touring region featuring some of the Emerald Isle's best-loved attractions. Running from Co. Monaghan in the north to Co. Cork in the south, it was created by Fáilte Ireland to showcase the top tourist destinations from its broad sweep of 17 eastern counties.

On arrival in Dublin Airport reclaim your baggage and enter the Arrivals Hall. Here in the Arrivals Hall you will meet your Professional Irish Driver-Guide (one person). There will be 3 Group transfers this morning between 0700 am & 1200 noon. Board your luxury air - conditioned coach and make the short transfer to Clayton Hotel Burlington Road in the heart of Dublin City.
Check in starts from 15:00 and you can store your luggage at the hotel prior to check in. At 14:00 you will depart on a Panoramic Tour of Dublin City visiting Trinity College founded in 1592 by Queen Elizabeth I on the site of an Augustinian monastery. Trinity College is also home to the Book of Kells, which is the most richly decorated of Ireland's medieval illuminated manuscripts. The book contains the four gospels in Latin. Some of the dyes used were imported from as far as the Middle East.
You will also visit the Guinness Storehouse at St. James's Gate for a tour of the world famous brewery and afterwards enjoy a perfect pint of Guinness in the Gravity Bar, which is located at the top of a glass tower that commands spectacular views of Dublin City and County in every direction.
After some much needed sleep and a hearty full Irish breakfast you will depart for Glendalough in the spectacular Wicklow Mountains. The steep wooded slopes of Glendalough, the "valley of the two lakes", harbour one of Ireland's most atmospheric monastic settlements. Sacked time and again by the Vikings, it nevertheless flourished for over 600 years.
Return to the Fair City of Dublin in the afternoon. You will have the afternoon free to explore and shop in Dublin and we would also suggest you take a stroll up Grafton Street.
This morning after breakfast you will depart for Limerick via Galway. Free time in Galway City, known as the "City of the Tribes". Take a ramble down Quay Street with its many great pubs including "The Quays" and "Ti Neachtain" a town house which belonged to "Humanity Dick", an eighteenth-century MP who promoted laws against cruelty to animals.
Continue south along the shores of Galway Bay before travelling down the Wild Atlantic Way to County Clare. Here you will see the Burren, which is Gaelic for rocky land - an apt name for this vast limestone plateau. In the 1640's, Cromwell's surveyor described it as "a savage land, yielding neither water enough to drown a man, nor tree to hang him, nor soil enough to bury".
On the Atlantic coast you will stand on the dramatic 214 metres (704 feet) high and 8 kilometres (5 miles) long Cliffs of Moher to gaze out on the vastness of the Atlantic Ocean. Travel onto Limerick City. Tonight you will overnight at the Clayton Hotel Limerick overlooking the banks of the broad majestic Shannon.
This morning after an early breakfast you will set off for the world famous Ring of Kerry. Travel via the beautiful thatched village of Adare to Killarney before touring the Ring of Kerry (Iveragh Peninsula) via Killorglin, Glenbeigh, Cahersiveen, Waterville, Coomakesta Pass with it magnificent views over Derrynane, home of Daniel O' Connell (known as "The Liberator"), to Caherdaniel.
Today you will have a pub lunch in The Blind Piper Pub in the village of Caherdaniel. Locals and visitors alike have been drinking here since 1865. Who was the Blind Piper? The Blind Piper is Mici Cumba O'Sullivan who was born nearby in 1835 and became one of Ireland's most famous pipers.
Continue on via the pretty village of Sneem, Moll's Gap, Ladies View and along the Lakes of Killarney to Killarney. Free time in Killarney before returning to Limerick.
After a hearty Irish breakfast this morning you will depart for Cork City on the banks of the River Lee, home of Murphy's Original Irish Stout, and considered by many Corkonians to be the real capital of Ireland!
Visit Blarney Castle built in 1446 by Dermot McCarthy and here you will have the opportunity to kiss the legendary Blarney Stone. You will have an opportunity for shopping at Blarney Woollen Mills where one of the largest selections of Irish arts, crafts & produce can be seen on display.
In Midleton Town you will visit Jameson Old Midleton Distillery, Home of Jameson Whiskey, where you will also see the world's largest pot still with a capacity of over 30,000 gallons. Finally, we return to Limerick City, where you will once again overnight in the Clayton Hotel Limerick.
Today marks the end of the 6 Day Iconic Scenes of Ireland Tour. After an Irish breakfast, your transfer will convey you to Shannon Airport or to Dublin City.

September 2019 • 6 Day Iconic Scenes
We just returned from the Six Day Iconic Scenes of Ireland Tour. As we were considering this tour and after booking it, Martina Hegarty answered several questions promptly and graciously. Brian Treanor, our driver/guide, happily took us from the airport to our splendid hotel, introducing us to Ireland and answering questions. During each and every day of our excursion, it was clear that Brian's goal was to make everyone's trip comfortable and memorable. His narrations were so interesting that I took notes, which I will share with family. Additionally, we were impressed with his superb driving skills. This six-day tour skillfully highlights the most popular attractions in Ireland. Our accommodations were terrific. We confidently recommend My Ireland Tours.

We traveled as a couple in late June 2019. Touring is a great way to see the country. Ben, our Tour Guide and driver, was a passionate Irishman whose love for all things Irish, helped bring the Tour alive. From geology to history to agriculture and music, Ben gave us more than a drive through the country. He was a cultural guide who shared his love of his country. The countryside, towns and villages and the folk we met along the way made the journey one to remember. We were blessed with a beautiful bunch of people on the Tour which made for some lively happy times on and off the bus. This was our first Tour ever and it was a very good experience. You must be ready for the up-and-go nature of Touring; there's not much time to spend anywhere, but there are restful times to be had on the bus and the hotel accommodation was good - terrific in Dublin and good in Limerick. We would recommend the Tour to anyone wanting to see a big swathe of the country and if you're lucky enough to get Ben, that's a bonus! Thanks to all involved.

10 of us ,2 couples and 6 adult children in their 20's, took the 6 day iconic tour. Ben was a very charming guide. We loved his singing and his stories. Wish we had more time at a few spots but loved this trip. Glad our flight was delayed a day so we spent more time in Dublin.

We had an absolutely incredible time during our 6-Day Iconic Tour of Ireland during June 2019. We began planning the trip more than 6 months in advance and Martina was very helpful during the process to include assisting us in reserving hotel rooms for additional nights. Our tour guide/driver - Kieran was amazing. Not only was he a very impressive driver as he maneuvered the charter bus around the country but his knowledge of Ireland ranged from agriculture, to industry, to economic to an amazing knowledge of Irish history to include Viking history of which I knew nothing. We were lucky to have a great group to travel with - I don't recall anyone complaining about a single thing for the entire trip which is rare when you have 22 adults together. I don't think we can give Kieran credit for the weather but we were very fortunate to have perfect weather each day so as to be comfortable and to be able to enjoy viewing the Cliffs of Moher and the Ring of Kerry as well as Blarney Caste. We didn't know anything about the monastery at Glendalough before going and I actually thought a monastery would be boring - BUT - we were blown away by this place, the history, the beauty, the spiritual feeling you couldn't help but get there. We loved it, it was worth the cost and worth the planning.

I just returned with my family from the 6 Day Iconic Scenes tour and we had an amazing time! There were 8 of us in total and no one had any complaints... if you knew my family you'd realize how earth shattering this is! When looking for a tour company I looked for every review possible on MIT and was slightly skeptical at the lack of low reviews ,this was my first time taking an actual tour with a guide and schedule), but in reading almost every review I took a chance on MIT and do not regret it. Our tour guide/driver was Liam Finnegan and he gets a 15/10. His passion, charisma, and knowledge are off the charts! I would select another tour of his any day of the week. Thank you MIT for a phenomenal family trip, you have 8 new fans and promoters!

Recently returned from a wonderful 6 day tour. Our driver/guide, Kieran, was outstanding in every way. I learned so much about Ireland and its history. The group was really fun together - it somehow blended seamlessly. Martina arranged everything perfectly, including our stay after the tour in Dublin. Thanks so much for a truly exhilarating time. I hope to return!

My Ireland's hub and spoke tour was the perfect fit for my husband, myself and my over 80 year old mother in law who had never traveled out of country before. The fact that you only move hotels once during your 6 days makes for a more restful trip overall. Yet, you do not feel short changed in what you see; you still see Dublin, parts of the Wicklow Mountains, Galway, etc. You still hit all the high lights. It really was just perfect for us. Our guide and driver, Garry Horan, could not have been more pleasant. He made us feel very safe and comfortable with his driving skills, and with the comfort and cleanliness of the bus. He was a font of knowledge of Irish history . His humor and outgoing personality helped create a camaraderie among all the passengers on the bus, which in turn added to the wonderful experience. He made each and every passenger feel taken care of. I highly recommend this tour to one and all.

My husband and I took the 6 Day Iconic Tour and had a wonderful time. The tour itself covered everything we wanted to see and for us, it was the perfect length. My Ireland Tours was all-out professional from the start. Our driver was waiting for us at the airport, the bus was comfortable, extra bonus that all the other people on our tour were friendly and fun. And a huge shout out to our driver, Enda who was not only knowledgeable but extremely personable.

My husband and I just returned from Ireland and our wonderful 6 day iconic Ireland tour. We had never taken a tour of this length before and it was a pleasure to have all arranged for us. Liam Finnegan was our very knowledgeable and humorous guide and driver. He covered everything from history, to education, to language, myth and folklore, house construction to the meaning of place names etc while driving! He sang to us. We had a few long days and still he was always energetic and in good spirits. His driving was impeccable and his story telling was fascinating and engaging. We left the tour with an abiding love of Ireland and the Irish people and a deeper understanding of its history and present day issues. We stayed at the Clayton Hotel Burlington in Dublin which was very good and the Clayton Limerick which was good. Liam picked us up at the airport and dropped us to our hotel at the end of the tour which was most appreciated. I highly recommend My Ireland’s 6 day iconic tour, we saw a lot, did a lot,and had fun and were also very fortunate to have great weather!

I just returned from the 6 day tour May 5-10. What an amazing experience! As a solo female traveler for the first time alone in another country, I was nervous. Our tour guide Brian and the amazing people on the tour made my experience spectacular. We all looked out for each other and feeling welcomed was so important to me. Our tour guide Brian was funny, very knowledgeable, and made sure we were safe at all times. The places we visited were so breathtaking. Thank you so much for this great experience. I will hold Ireland close to my heart forever.

our 6 day tour was the absolute best! Brian was charming and knowledgeable and just an all around delight. Time to spend at highlighted areas was efficient and lovely ,as well as having time to explore on our own. Would definitely do another tour. Well done My Ireland Tours! Cheers, Brian!

Wow!!! We've just returned from the 6 Day Iconic Tour of Ireland and it was the trip of a lifetime. Every aspect of this trip was magnificent and we can't stop raving about it. The itinerary was wonderful, the bus was excellent and our guide, Peter Kelly was absolutely superb. The small group concept of this tour along with the .hub and spoke. structure made for a trip that was great beyond our expectations. Every single aspect of this tour from the booking process and through the entire tour itself were outstanding and we highly recommend My Ireland Tour for your visit to Ireland!

Our family of 4 traveled with My Ireland Tour company for the 6 Day Iconic Scenes of Ireland. We thoroughly enjoyed the time. The country was quite lovely and we got to see a sampling of so many different things and areas around the island. It was so nice not to have to worry about driving. The hotels were nice, the coach was comfortable and new. The driver was excellent and contributed so much knowledge about the places that we visited and scenes along the way. Overall it was a great experience and I highly recommend the company.

The second week of August we did the Iconic Scenes of Ireland Tour. My wife and I booked this with two other couples, we were not sure what to expect. The trip by far was above and beyond our expectations. We enjoyed every minute of the trip. Our guide and driver Tom made the trip as wonderful as it was, he made our trip an adventure more than just a sight seeing trip. Our whole group of 25 people were magnificent, everyone got along and became friends. Ireland is a beautiful country and we thank My Ireland Tours for making it happen!
6 Day Iconic Scenes Ireland is a hub-and-spoke tour. That means you stay in two quality hotels for the duration of your trip. No need to pack your bags again every day. With fewer hotel changes, you have more time to focus on making memories.
The hotels on this tour offer amazing quality and value to match. We are very selective in getting just the right accommodation for each specific tour and we are very proud of the selection of hotels we have put together. Some of these hotels are family-owned, just like ourselves, and we have a long standing relationship with them all.
On a tour vacation, the journey can be just as important as the destination. That's why our vehicles are all of the highest standards both in terms of luxury and reliability. For our tour vehicles we use 34-seater coaches, but limit the number of participants to 26. This gives you more space to spread out, relax and enjoy the wonderous scenery. This Smaller Group Size is a core principle in our tours.
Please note: The Coach shown here is one of four 34 Seater Coaches we use on our Max. 26 Guest Tours. For any reason, should one of these become unavailable for your tour we will endeavour to provide you with an equally luxurious and comfortable touring vehicle.
Situated five miles north-west of Cork city, Blarney Castle is a solid fixture on almost any tour of Ireland. It is best known for the famous "Blarney Stone" which visitors are encouraged to kiss, in accordance with a tradition which spans the centuries.
A limestone plateau covering 250 square kilometres, The Burren takes its name quite aptly from the Gaelic for "rocky land" or "great rock". While in one sense very fitting, the name does not do justice to what experts have more justly termed "
one of the world's most stunningly unique natural heritage regions".
Christ Church Cathedral, founded by the Viking King Sitric almost 1000 years ago in 1034. The cathedral crypt is one of the largest in the UK and Ireland, dating back to the 12th Century. Here in the crypt you can see the Mummified remains of the Cat and the Rat which were found in the cathedral organ and a rare 14th century copy of the Magna Carta.
An ancient monastic settlement, Glendalough (meaning: Valley of the Two Lakes) presents today's visitors with a chance to walk not only through the idyllic hills of Ireland's East, but also through the rough-hewn landscapes of ancient Irish history. Founded in the Fifth Century by St. Kevin, the settlement would grow to be very powerful at its zenith some four hundred years later. By the start of the Fifteenth Century, this stronghold was in decline but the stone monuments and buildings remain as evocative and powerful today as they surely must have been then.
Guinness is more than just a brand, indeed, more than just a beer. And that's not just for the Irish, but for the many millions of Guinness-drinkers worldwide. The site of the brewery itself is massive, at a staggering 26 hectares, but it will be the old grain storehouse which you visit. Shaped like a giant pint of the black stuff, this most popular of Dublin attractions towers over the surrounding neighbourhoods, with the top-floor Gravity Bar offering a delightful panorama across the Dublin cityscape which can only be enhanced by a well-earned pint to cap-off your visit.
The Old Midleton Distillery is home to Ireland's other globally-recognizable tipple, Jameson's Whiskey. While Jameson's is enjoyed by millions worldwide, you don't need to be a whiskey-drinker to enjoy this fascinating visitor experience. There is much to discover here for everyone.
They are one of the most popular and frequently most eagerly anticipated attractions on any of our Ireland Tours, and the views will not disappoint. Rising to a height of 203 metres, these sheer vertical cliffs hold a steady, undulating line against the tireless advance of the Atlantic below. A better view of the sea and setting sun you will not find.
Pubs (public houses) play a huge part in the culture of Ireland, and have done throughout the ages. Sometimes busy, often noisy, but always friendly and welcoming places to meet the locals. In a pub, you will see a full cross section of Irish society - its a place where people from all classes, ages, interests and backgrounds can mix.
Ireland's most prestigious university is arguably its most attractive, too. Covering no less than 16 hectares, the college buildings and grounds are a poetic tribute to the best of Victorian architecture. Receiving its charter from Queen Elizabeth I in 1592, Trinity remained exclusively protestant until 1793. Today, such prejudices and exclusions are long gone, and Trinity enjoys a global reputation as a leading institution for learning, teaching and research.
We only offer small-group tours. That's because we want every guest to get the comfort, space and service they deserve. Although many other companies squeeze in groups of up to 50, even the largest of our tour packages are strictly limited to just 26 guests. That leaves empty seats on the coaches. So why do we limit our tours to such small group sizes? Here are six reasons.
