Editorial Guidelines

How we generate and share information on our website

We think Ireland is the best place in the world, and we think our tours are the best in the business. But when we publish content on our website, we try to keep it as impartial and factual as possible. That way, our visitors can make well-informed decisions and choose the best vacation for them personally. We believe this is the only sustainable approach for a small family business like ours. That's why all the content on this website is written by our own in-house team of local Irish experts.

The information that you find on this website should be clear, factual and expertly researched. If you find anything on our website which is inaccurate or misleading, please let us know so we can get it fixed straight away.

Update for 2026

In 2026, we are renewing and levelling-up our commitment to provide high-quality, trustworthy content about visiting and touring Ireland. We are currently going through every page of our website, looking for ways to improve and update our content. Where content has become out of date, we are renewing it or removing it. Where new information is available, we are adding it. Our aim is to ensure that every page of our website meets the below editorial guidelines by St Patrick's Day 2026.

Our goal

Our aim is to produce helpful and impartial content that allows visitors to make informed decisions about whether, when and how to visit Ireland. If visitors choose to book a tour with us, then that's even better! But the purpose of our content is first and foremost to help users make decisions about visiting the country we love. Céad míle fáilte.

Integrity and trust

Based on experience and expertise

Our content is created by real human experts with first-hand experience of Ireland and its culture. Most of our authors, contributors, and editors are Irish born and bred, and they live in Ireland today.

Authoritative content people can trust

All content on our website should be accurate, honest, safe and reliable. We want to build resources which are the go-to authority on any given topic.

Accurate information based on expert consensus

We fact-check our content against reputable sources and established expert consensus. Where secondary sources or data are used, we link to these sources so users can verify the information for themselves.

Clearly identified authors and contributors

We provide clear information about who has created the content on our website, including author biographies and contributor profiles.

Value and originality

Original reporting, research and analysis

We prioritise original content offering unique insights, perspectives and information not available elsewhere.

Written by humans, for humans

Our content is created to meet the needs of real people who want to visit our home country. We avoid content that is designed to attract clicks without providing real value. Our content is written by humans, for humans. We sometimes use AI tools to speed us up with things like transcribing conversations with experts, or proofreading our content before it is published. But none of our text or images is generated by AI.

Content that grows and evolves over time

We aim to cover topics comprehensively and completely. We see this as an ongoing process in which we continuously improve and extend our content about Ireland and Irish tourism.

Helpfulness and usability

Content that is helpful, not just informative

We want our content to be helpful. Content on our website should answer people's questions and help them solve their problems. Every page of our website should serve a purpose. We avoid unhelpful filler content or mass production.

Satisfying user experience

Visitors to our website should have a satisfying, distraction-free user experience. We avoid intrusive ads, pop-ups or other elements that detract from the content itself.
