Coronavirus Amendment

Last Updated: 3rd March 2020

We have updated our terms and conditions due to Coronavirus (Covid-19). This extends the rights of our clients, and does not reduce any of our client's rights as per the standard terms and conditions. We are doing our best to make things more flexible for you and ease any concerns of having to make decisions too early.

These additional terms and conditions apply to any bookings for tours that start in 2020, whether you have arranged a private tour or booked one of our scheduled tour packages.

We have added extra flexibility for you

If you choose to cancel your booking then we are offering two new flexibility options for you:

Extra Flexibility #1:

Transferable Deposit

All deposits are now transferrable to any other booking you make with My Ireland Tour if you re-book for travel during 2020 or 2021. You do not have to choose the new tour straight away. You can cancel right up until 1 day before your tour starts and still transfer the deposit amount to a future booking.

If you booked less than 60 days before your tour, and so paid the full amount upon booking, you can still transfer the standard deposit amount for that tour.

Extra Flexibility #2:

Refundable Balance up to 30 days before your tour starts

The full balance payment is required 60 days before your tour starts. However, we understand that this is a long way ahead to make decisions in a quickly changing situation. Therefore you can now cancel up to 30 days before your tour starts, and you would receive a full refund of the balance paid. The balance is the total price for your booking, less the standard deposit.

If you booked less than 60 days before the tour start date, and therefore paid the full amount upon booking, we would retain the standard deposit amount on account for you, and the balance would be refunded to you.

How would this flexibility work in practice?

Cancelling 60+ days before your tour starts

All of our scheduled tour packages departing before the end of June have now been cancelled. If your tour departs after that date but you would still like to cancel with notice of 60 or more days before the start of your tour, you are entitled to a refund of your balance. Your deposit is non-refundable. However, we are happy to transfer your deposit to a future booking if you decide to travel with us during 2020 or 2021.

Cancelling 59 to 30 days before your tour starts

All of our scheduled tour packages departing before the end of June have now been cancelled. If your tour departs after that date but you would still like to cancel, with notice of 30 to 59 days before the start of your tour, then you will receive a refund of the balance (i.e. total price less the standard deposit on your tour). Your deposit is non-refundable but we would transfer that to a future booking if you decide to travel with us during 2020 or 2021.

If you booked less than 60 days before the tour start date, and therefore paid the full amount upon booking, we would retain the standard deposit amount for the tour and refund the balance to you. You can re-use that deposit on a future booking for any tour starting in 2020 or 2021.

Cancelling 29 days or fewer before your tour starts

All of our scheduled tour packages departing before the end of June have now been cancelled. If your tour departs after that date but you would still like to cancel, with notice of 29 days or fewer before the start of your tour our normal cancellation fees apply. This means you would received a 25% refund of the total price if you cancel 15 days or more before your tour starts, and no refund if you cancel 14 days or fewer before your tour starts.

However, we will be happy to put the deposit on account for you. This deposit can then be used against any future bookings with us for tours starting in 2020 or 2021.

Please note: You have to let us know if you want to cancel

To take advantage of this extra flexibility in our terms and conditions, you have to let us know that you would like to cancel. If we do not hear anything, and payment is not received on time, then we'll assume the booking is cancelled and the normal cancellation fees and rules will apply as per our standard terms and conditions only.

Transferring your Deposit

You can use the deposit amount paid towards any tour with us that starts in 2020 or 2021. You do not have to pick the date and tour straight away, you can cancel then re-book in the future. Transferring your deposit to a new tour is subject to availability. The tour price, dates, offers, and itinerary may be different to the tour you originally booked.

Cancellation by us

We hope this section helps to clarify any questions you may have.

We would cancel tours if:

  • Our hotels and transport companies are unable to provide the service
  • The Irish Government advises us to stop running tours
  • All flights in and out of Ireland are cancelled

We would not cancel tours if:

  • One or some attractions are closed, but the majority of the tour can run unaffected
  • Some flights are cancelled
  • Foreign governments recommend against their citizens travelling

If we Cancel your Tour

If we have to cancel a specific tour, then all participants who are booked on that specific tour at the date of cancellation would receive a refund of monies paid to My Ireland Tour Ltd. Participants who have already cancelled in advance would not receive this refund. My Ireland Tour Ltd would not be liable for any other items or costs incurred such as airfares.
