Just as the "Beast from the East" began to settle, we took the rare opportunity to hit the slopes in Ireland. With a set of skis and a snowboard we scaled to the summit of Galtymore Mountain and met the extreme conditions head on.

In late February 2018 the "Beast from the East" hit Ireland; a blast of sub-zero Siberian air that covered the nation in a once-in-a-generation snowfall. Here's some of our photos of a snow covered Cork City.

Each Year on Halloween night there is a parade in the very heart of Cork city. It is to celebrate the "Samhain" (a Gaelic festival) which traditionally marks the end of the harvest season. We went along this year to have a look and we took some pictures along the way.

On Oct 16th 2017 a hurricane descended on Ireland for the first time since 1961. Her name was Ophelia. It was a most unusual weather event for Ireland so the whole country was wondering how it would unfold.
