We are looking for a motivated and organised individual to join our Tour Planner and Customer Advisor team.
You will be a critical member of the team that organises our tours. Don't worry if you have not worked in tourism before, no experience is necessary. More important is that you are organised, driven and have an eye for getting every detail right. If that is you, we can teach you the rest.
When the clients get in touch, your first responsibility is to help them select the perfect tour. They may wish to book some seats on one of our Escorted Group Tours, or they may want a fully customised private tour. You are there to make sure they get the perfect itinerary to suit their interests, time and budget.
Excellent customer skills are critical — you are the face of the company, and our clients make their decisions, in large part, based on what they think of you.
Once the booking is in place, you'll be their booking manager — the point of contact for the clients. You are there to answer any questions they might have, and to collect all the information we need from them.
There are many customisations needed as our guests' book, from unusual diets to extra hotel nights to upgrading rooms to special surprises. Your thorough and detailed approach is critical — this is someone’s holiday of a lifetime, and there’s no room for even the smallest oversight.
You follow your bookings all the way through and make those tours happen. This includes booking all the hotels, attractions, coaching and countless other elements that go into making a tour. Finally, as the tour date approaches, you'll need to collate all the data and make sure the hotels, attractions, tour guide and everyone else have all the correct information in a timely manner so they can provide the perfect service we expect.
There are a huge number of moving parts and different people to deal with, and it's the ability to handle all this without mistake that has built our reputation. If the challenge of dealing with all this excites and motivates you, then this could be the position for you.
Please note, this is not a "cold-sales" type role. We do not "cold call" or "cold email" anyone. You would simply be responding to people who have decided to get in touch with us to enquire or book a tour.
Salary: €35,000 per year.
Working hours are 35 hours per week. You'll be working from our office in Carrigaline, Cork.
Hours are flexible as long as the majority of them overlap with the rest of the team. Most people work 9-5 Monday to Friday with a 1-hour lunch break, but if you would rather work 8-4, 10-6, etc., that would be absolutely fine.
Please note that during the first few weeks, you'll need to match your colleagues’ working hours for training.
Please note, you would very rarely meet our clients in person. We use expert tour guides who will look after the clients when they are on the ground in Ireland.
Firstly, let's start with what is not required: any experience in the tourism sector or in operations. We are looking for the right person, and if this is you, we can give you all the training support you need for everything else.
Helping organise people's tours is a very enjoyable job. There are countless pieces and people that need to work together seamlessly to provide the ideal tour. We'll be looking for you to show that you have the drive, will and motivation required to excel in this multitasking environment.
Your solid computer skills will keep you fast and accurate, and your passion for improving them helps you pick up new tips and tricks regularly.
To say you'll be dealing with many moving parts would be a bit of an understatement. Guests sometimes change their minds at the last minute, or might not tell anyone of a critical customisation needed until they step off the plane in Dublin. This position is for someone who excels at juggling countless different tasks and enjoys the challenge of a last-minute curveball being thrown into the mix.
There's no space for "flying by the seat of your pants". You need to be the type of person who enjoys setting up systems and processes and gets great satisfaction from getting the details right.
Our customers and suppliers will see you as the face of our company at times. You'll use your excellent interpersonal skills to maintain our great working relationships and work together with them through any issues that arise.
When preparing someone's holiday of a lifetime, making a small oversight is not an option. Precision is everything in this industry, and you'll need that passion for organisation to make sure there's never a crack that anything could fall into.
Enthusiastic about the idea of learning about the tourism sector and improving your computer skills.
Having experience in any of the areas below may be an advantage to you. Please note, though, none of these are essential. We are first and foremost looking for the right person who matches the criteria above, so please do not let the below put you off if you don't tick those boxes. We would still love to hear from you.
Any experience in Irish Tourism may give you an advantage, though — just to restate, it is by no means essential.
Any office administration experience will help, especially a role that involves juggling many different aspects simultaneously.
Any experience in operations, even within another industry, would be an advantage, especially when you are dealing with external suppliers.
We want to make sure you have every opportunity to assess us. Yes, we want you to be the right person for the role, but we also want to make sure you are happy that this is the right role and company for you. Please, if you have any questions at all, do not hesitate to get in touch. We would be only too happy to help.
To apply for this position, please use our application form here. You'll need your CV ready to send over after you've filled in the application form. Thank you.
The closing date for applications for this vacancy is Sunday, 6th July 2025.
